HEART: Serving Our Neighbors in Crisis is a documentary short examining Durham, North Carolina’s unarmed crisis response program, which pairs social workers with first responders for 911 calls involving mental illness and addiction.
As editor, I shaped the film from personal, vérité-style footage, working with intimate, handheld camerawork that follows responders and community members through high-stakes situations, including ride-alongs with police.
